Thankful Thursday
November is often a month of self reflection, growth and gratitude and that’s exactly what we’re focusing on here at Rêve. Learn a little bit more about our instructors, staff and riders who make our community so incredibly special!

Two years ago, not having built anything, I set out to convert a trailer into my own RV for traveling. I absolutely loved the whole process. I know that building was my next and last career. I completed an accelerated course and I have recently started my own business building sheds. It’s really taken off and I’m having a blast! Plans to build my own house are in the works. In my spare time, my partner Jess and I love to load up the RV and travel to different areas around New England mountain biking.
When did you start riding at Rêve?
My first ride at Rêve was Tuesday, September 10th, 2013! I rode several times after that and of course I loved it. Life took a nutty turn and I had to take a three-ish year hiatus. When I came back and decided that I NEEDED to be an instructor! My favorite part about Rêve is the motivation goes beyond physical, it's genuine and compassionate.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I’m grateful for continued self awareness and clarity. As each year passes I learn more and more about myself, my capabilities, my strengths, and how learning into my vulnerabilities creates a more solid foundation.

Born and raised in South Portland, I have spent my whole life falling more in love with everything Maine has to offer. When I’m not in the studio, I am usually drinking coffee, eating at one of Portland’s many restaurants, or finding a new spot to explore with my dog, Winston. As a teacher, I thrive off of connection. I hope that every student who leaves my classroom feels seen, appreciated, and loved - kind of how I also want everyone who leaves my spin classes to feel, too!
When did you start riding at Rêve?
I’ve been riding at Rêve Since 2020, and started riding at Thompson’s Point. I absolutely fell in love with the community and connection to movement.
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
My favorite part of Rêve is the people! The positive energy in the studio is infectious. Every time I walk through the doors, no matter what my day has been like, I am immediately filled with a sense of peace. The people who ride at Rêve are what make it so magical and I could not be more honored to be part of our incredible community.
What are you most thankful for this season?
As we go into Thanksgiving I am grateful to be able to enjoy the small moments as they come. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our lives that we forget to slow down and appreciate the little things. The way the sun rises, the smell of the ocean, a smile from a stranger, that first sip of coffee, the way my body feels on the bike. I am so grateful to live such a beautiful life in those small moments.
Tiffany Heater - Operations Manager

Working at Rêve is my full time job! I’m in charge of managing the day to day operations of the studio. For fun, I go on adventures with my kiddos.
When did you start riding at Rêve?
I have been riding at Rêve since the studio opened in 2013!
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
It’s hard to narrow it down to just one favorite part, but I would have to say the people. Our community is so special.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I try to practice gratitude daily. I am most grateful for my support system and my personal strength.

I was born in Seattle, but moved to Massachusetts when I was 8 and spent most of my childhood on the South Shore! I went to the University of Maine and decided to move to Portland after graduating in 2020. I work at Industrial Automation Supply where I do inside sales. I love spending time at breweries all around the Portland area and I recently started coaching All Star cheerleading at Elite All-Stars of Maine in Westbrook. I grew up cheerleading and getting the chance to help young athletes find their passion for the sport has been so rewarding. When not working or coaching, I am either going for a walk with my pup, Betty or catching up with friends!
When did you start riding at Rêve?
I’ve been riding at Rêve for 8 months!
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
I really love how inclusive and welcoming the Rêve team and community is. Rêve has felt like a second home for me since the first time I walked in the doors. I came to my first class in March with 2 of my roommates and immediately after class ended I signed up for a membership because I adored every aspect of it. The instructors always make you feel welcomed and uplift you before, during and after class. Everytime I walk into the studio I feel such a sense of community and know that I will always have Rêve as a safe space even when things outside those 4 walls feel unmanageable.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I am most grateful for my family and friends that I have in my life near and far. My family is from British Columbia and seeing them with everything going on in the world these last few years has been hard. I am so grateful no matter the distance or time spent apart they are always there for me. On top of my wonderful family, I have my boyfriend, friends, and of course my dog who I feel so lucky to have by my side everyday.

I have a private therapy practice in town, and have the privilege of working as an Individual & Couples Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist. In my free time I love to spin at Rêve, spend time with my daughter when she’s home from college, cycle, hike, dance, sing, cross country ski, travel and do international service. I just finished a slow pilgrimage to the Camino de Santiago in September, which was amazing.
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
The community, collective enthusiasm & support at Rêve are among the many things I cherish. I started spinning just before the pandemic, and have developed amazing fitness & lovely friendships.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I am grateful for my health, friends and chosen family, the meaningful work I get to do and to live in such a gorgeous and magical part of the world (Portland).

I’m a new Physician Assistant working on the trauma surgery team at Maine Med! I started in October and still get a kick out of seeing the PA-C after my signature on a note or an order set. The first thing I look for once I get my work schedule for the week is when I can fit Rêve classes in, which is harder now that I work 12 hour shifts but was a daily ritual during PA school. Aside from riding at Rêve, I love to cook, read, surf, and explore Maine. Now that I have an income again, I’m especially excited to eat at all my favorite spots in Portland (hi Ramona’s!)
When did you start riding at Rêve?
I’ve been riding at Rêve since July of 2020, right after I started PA school and when Rêve was outside at Thompon’s Point. I was riding at the Handle Bar in Boston almost every day before the pandemic hit, and it was a huge relief to go back to spin after moving to Maine. I’m coming up on 400 classes and I can’t wait for 400 more!
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
It’s hard to pick just one favorite thing about Rêve and even harder to describe! Of course, I love the release that comes from a killer playlist and choreo that hits so hard that it feels like more than a flow state, but also love the standing invitation to come as you are and the joy of being known by such a warm, supportive community. That carries me through the days when the movement itself doesn’t come easy.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I feel like I have a lot to be grateful for this year. I was recently catching up with a friend that I used to work with and as I hit on all the big subjects – work life, home life, community – I realized that I’m lucky enough to be living the exact life I’ve envisioned for myself. Even though this sometimes slips my mind when my alarm goes off at 4:50 a.m. or when Meg Savino makes me run in two and calls it recovery, it is not lost on me what a gift it is to feel this way.

I’m a pharmacist at Bridgton Hospital and Hannaford Pharmacy. I also help out at Skillins Greenhouse, where I’ve worked since I was a teenager! In my spare time you’ll find me singing in the front row at Rêve or in the garden with my two dogs. I love growing, cooking, and sharing food with my family and friends. My husband and I are both born and raised Mainers and love exploring the beaches and mountain hikes with our two pups.
When did you start riding at Rêve?
I’ve been riding at Rêve since the summer of 2020 at Thompson’s Point! I joined a friend of mine one evening and I have been hooked ever since.
What is your favorite thing about Rêve?
I love absolutely everything about Rêve. The instructors, the riders, the good vibes all around. I started riding at a time in my life when I needed it most. Rêve has taught me to love and accept myself for who I am. One inspirational comment that has always resonated with me: ``You cannot take care of others unless you take care of yourself first.” This is SO important and I honestly didn’t quite realize the magnitude of that statement until Rêve.
What are you most thankful for this season?
I am grateful for so many things! To name the most important – my family, friends, snuggly fur babies, and the Rêve community who has taught me to show gratitude towards myself each and every day. Thank you Rêve for always being there to give the support, encouragement, sprints and pushes each one of us needs!
Joan and Bob Daly - Rêve Riders
Tell us a little bit about yourselves!
I started spinning 25 years ago. My husband Bob and I were having fun doing triathlons while we lived in New York. I had retired from a marketing career with an international telecommunications company to stay home with our three children, Nick, Nora and Will. I became a spin instructor in New York and when we moved to Maine, taught at the Bay Club (Yes - I am old as dirt!)
When did you start riding at Rêve?
My family started spinning at Rêve in 2016. We have loved all the instructors and the community feel from the first day we started. When Covid hit, we were extremely grateful for the entire staff of Rêve. They got us outside and kept us moving everyday, while maintaining our riding community.
What are you most thankful for this season?
Our gratitude continues everyday when we walk through the doors at Rêve (especially with Meg Tuesday at 6 and Saturday at 7). We always leave energized and happy. When not at Rêve you can find me biking, hiking, walking my puppy, Marley or volunteering with various food security programs in Cumberland County. This Thanksgiving, Bob and I are grateful for our families health and happiness and wish our Rêve family a wonderful Thanksgiving!
How are YOU practicing gratitude and what are you thankful for this year? Head to our Instagram page and let us know! As always, we are so grateful for our community and the one that extends beyond the four walls, too. With so much love and gratitude from the Rêve team to you this holiday season♡
