Introducing Megan Woodbrey

A few years ago, our newest spin instructor, Meg Woodbrey came to Rêve in search of a good workout, but found so much more. Sports has always been a huge part of her life--as a former college athlete and current physical therapist. Her time at the studio helped her to take care of herself and sparked her desire to help others do the same, leading her to the instructor's podium. We caught up with her to chat about what motivated her to make the leap to become an instructor and what we may expect from her high energy classes (hint: it includes some super fun music).

I ride at Reve because...

For 50-minutes nothing else matters. Once you clip in, you disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. The room is filled with the energy of all the riders, killer music, and a whole lot of heart. I initially came to Rêve looking for workout and ended up getting so much more. I am incredibly thankful to be a part of this amazing community and am so excited for what instructing has in store!

Teaching's a big job! About what are you most excited? What makes your class unique?

Fitness has always been a huge part of my life, from playing sports through college to my current career as a physical therapist, there is nothing more important to me than taking care of yourself. You get one body and one chance to be good to it and I'm excited to inspire riders to do just that.

My favorite moment in class is when...

I love to dance so anytime there is a strong beat that I can pick up and hang out in 3rd, let go, and drip sweat is definitely the best part of class for me. Be prepared for a lot of great songs to take it out to position 3 and dance it out!

The most challenging part about becoming an instructor has been...

I think just the time and preparation that goes into each class. I want my playlist to inspire people, motivate them to work hard, and most importantly have FUN. I’ve realized the best way to do that is to I weave together the perfect mix of songs to capture all of those things, but it has been the most challenging.

Some songs you'll definitely find on my first few playlists will be....

I have very eclectic musical tastes, I like everything from country to pop, hip-hop to EDM, and even some indie. You can expect to hear some Kanye (especially his older stuff!), Chainsmokers, and Lauv. I always love to throw in some old school hip-hop/R&B and 90's boy bands/Brittany for good measure.

When I'm not at the studio you can find me...

Rehabbing sports injuries at OA, hanging with my family, or out on Sebago Lake!
