Behind the Scenes with Tiffany Heater
Recently, you may have noticed a familiar face behind the desk, welcoming you to Rêve, our amazing desk manager, Tiffany Heater! Not only does Tiffany offer the warmest welcome in town (not that we’re biased), but she also keeps everything operating smoothly behind the scenes. We caught up with her this week to chat about how she first found Rêve, her role at the studio, and where we can find her around town.
How and when did you find Rêve?
I started coming to Rêve the very first week the studio opened, back in May 2013! Stephanie and I had struck up a conversation about the studio at a local coffee shop while she was dropping off some promotional postcards and I decided to give it a try. My first ride was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. However, somehow I made it through and felt such a sense of accomplishment afterwards I had to come back. After a few months I was hooked, coming four to five times a week. Following the birth of my son, I took an extended break—but I found my way back to the studio in January of this year. Not only was I back on the bike several days a week, but I started helping behind the scenes. In May the company I worked for changed ownership. The transition gave me the opportunity to reflect on where I was and where I wanted to be. I felt like it was time for a change and, yet again, Rêve was that change I needed.
What is your role at Rêve?
I am the desk manager at Rêve. I answer emails, help clients anyway I can to make sure that they have a great experiences, and bustle about to keep the studio in its constant state of perfection.
What has been your favorite thing about working at Rêve so far?
Asking me what my favorite thing about working at Rêve is seems a bit redundant. Getting paid to spend time in a beautiful space with inspiring people (both our instructors and clients) all while getting a kick ass work out is literally a dream come true.
When you're not at the studio, where can you be found?
When I am not at the studio I can be found chasing my son, Elliott, and my dog, Nico, around. They are both quite fast. I also love to cook; I make a mean pasta carbonara.
What are some of your favorite spots in and around Portland?
There are so many great spots in and around Portland it's difficult to choose only a few. I love taking my son to Greenlight Studio just down the street from Rêve and going to Fort Williams Park or Willard Beach on nice days. My favorite local spots to eat are Eventide and Woodford F&B.
Anything else you'd like the Rêve community to know about you?
My husband and I moved to Portland from NYC in 2010. While it was the best move we could have made, it wasn't until I found Rêve that I really felt I had found a sense of community.
